Free Delete Pages from PDF

Free to useNo sign-up requiredNo watermarkRuns in your browser

This free tool removes pages from a PDF. Pick them from the thumbnails, or type a range like "1, 4, 9-12" if you already know which ones have to go. Everything you do not select is kept, in the order it is in now.

It is the tool for the blank page a scanner added, the cover sheet a fax put on the front, or the twelve pages of terms nobody needs to send on.

How this tool works

  1. Open your PDF

Drag it in or click to browse. It is read on your device.

  2. Choose the pages to remove

Click the thumbnails, or type a range. The two stay in step, so you can start with a range and adjust it by clicking.

  3. Check what will remain

The count of remaining pages is shown before you commit, because it is easy to select the pages you meant to keep by mistake.

  4. Delete and download

The trimmed document is ready to download, or to carry straight into another PDF tool.

How it works

A new document is built and the pages you kept are copied into it. This is why the result is usually smaller than the original by roughly the share of pages removed: the images and fonts that only the deleted pages used are not carried over.

Removing pages in place would leave those resources in the file. That is how a PDF trimmed from two hundred pages to two can still be almost the original size in some tools, and it is the reason this one rebuilds instead.

The page range grammar is the same one the split tool uses: single numbers, comma-separated lists, and ranges with a hyphen.

Ways to select the pages

What you can type into the pages box
7Just page 7
1, 3, 8Three individual pages
4-9Everything from 4 to 9 inclusive
1, 5-7, 20Mixed: singles and ranges together

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened and changed by this page on your own device, using your browser. It is never sent to VSThiran and no copy is stored on any server. It is held only in the tab you have open, which is also why reloading the page clears it.

Can I use another PDF tool on the result without downloading it first?

Yes. Once a PDF is open, the other PDF tools pick it up as it currently stands, so you can organise, watermark, number, sign and compress a document from a single upload and download once at the end. Conversions to Word, Excel or images produce a different kind of file, so those finish the sequence rather than continuing it.

Can I delete every page?

No. A PDF must contain at least one page, so the tool refuses rather than producing a file no reader will open. If you want to get rid of the document, delete the file itself.

Will the file get smaller?

Usually, and roughly in proportion to what you removed, because the result is rebuilt from the pages you kept rather than having pages hidden. It will not shrink much if the pages you deleted shared their images with the pages you kept.

Can I undo something?

Yes. Each operation is recorded as a step, and Undo, Redo and Reset move between them. The last few steps are kept rather than all of them, because every step is a full copy of the document and keeping an unlimited number would exhaust the tab’s memory on a large file.
