VSThiran is a growing collection of free online tools for everyday digital work. It covers calculators, PDF tools, spreadsheet and data tools, text and image utilities, converters, and business document generators such as invoices, quotations and receipts. The promise is simple: fast, free, private, and no signup.
The name combines “VS” with “Thiran” (திறன்), a Tamil word meaning skill or capability. The idea is to give people a practical skill at their fingertips without making them create an account or install software.
Why it exists
Everyday tasks such as merging a PDF, cleaning a spreadsheet, converting units or issuing an invoice often lead to cluttered sites, forced signups or unclear privacy. VSThiran aims to offer the opposite: clear tools that do one job well, with explanations of how each result is produced.
Adding a tool here is not about hitting a number. A tool is added because a real, recurring task needs a fast, private way to get done - not because a round number of tools looks better on a homepage.
Who builds it
VSThiran is built and maintained by Vishal Senthilkumar, a management consultant based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Vishal is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and works in consulting, with experience in ERP and data migration, fixed asset management, business process reengineering, internal audit, and IT and SOC audits. His early career was in statutory audit and tax, followed by risk advisory work at Deloitte and consulting roles since.
That background shapes the site. Many tools exist because of the repetitive data, document and reconciliation work that professionals meet every day, and the focus is on accuracy, clarity and simplicity.
VSThiran is an independent personal project, separate from and not affiliated with my employer. Connect on LinkedIn.
How the tools work
Most tools run directly in your browser, so your files and inputs stay on your device. Where a tool needs processing beyond the browser, the tool page says so. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
How we keep content accurate
A tool that gives a confident-looking wrong answer is worse than no tool at all, so accuracy is treated as the baseline, not a nice-to-have:
- Calculator formulas are explained on the tool page so you can check the method.
- Guides and articles are written for practical use and are updated when something changes.
- Results are for general information. They are not financial, legal, tax or professional advice. See the Terms.
