Data that came out of another system is rarely ready to use. Trailing spaces, invisible characters pasted from a web page, numbers stored as text that will not sum, dates in three different formats, blank rows in the middle.
This fixes those, and shows you exactly what it changed: how many cells each transformation affected, with real before-and-after examples from your own file. Nothing runs that you did not tick, and the result can always be undone.

How it works
Nothing happens until you tick a transformation and run it. Every one is counted, with real before-and-after pairs taken from your file rather than generic examples, and the result can always be undone.
Numbers stored as text become real numbers so they will sum, except where a leading zero is significant. "007" stays as text, because it is an identifier and turning it into the number 7 would merge it with a different record.
Dates are only rewritten when they can be read unambiguously. A date such as 03/04/2024 could be March or April, so it is left exactly as it was and counted, rather than being converted to a reading your file never stated. Tell the tool which order your file uses and it will convert them.
Missing values and mixed-type columns are reported but never filled in or coerced. What a blank should become is a judgement about your data, and a cleaner that guesses at it does more harm than good.
The Excel download carries your original data on a second sheet, so a cleaned file can always be checked against what it was.

Is this data cleaner free?
Yes, free with no sign-up.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files stay on your device. Everything is read and cleaned by your browser.
Can I undo a change?
Your original file is never modified, and the Excel download includes it on a second sheet. Nothing you download replaces anything you had.
Why were some of my dates not converted?
Because they could be read two ways. A date where both numbers are 12 or less is genuinely ambiguous, so it is left alone and counted. Set the date order and run it again to convert them.
Why is "007" still text after converting numbers?
Because the leading zero is meaningful. Account and reference numbers stored that way would be merged with a different record if they became plain numbers.
Does it fill in missing values?
No. Missing values are reported so you know where they are, but what a blank should become depends entirely on your data.
